Who can participate in SVJFAC?

Children that reside in Cranberry Township or Seven Fields may participate in SVJFAC programs.

What are the age requirements for participating in SVJFAC?

Football is for children ages 6 to 12 as of July 31st of the season they wish to participate in. Cheer and dance are on a grade basis and they take girls in the 1st through 8th grades.

When are the General Meetings?

The general meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:30 at the Municipal Center.

When are the Executive Board Meetings?

The Executive Board meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 at the Municipal Center.

When is Registration?

Registration is held in March. It usually takes place on 2 Saturdays and a weeknight to make it as convenient as possible to register for SVJFAC.

Registration fees are due in full at time of registration. Checks can be made payable to SVJFAC. See the questions for the individual sports for details on registration fees.

What are the children's responsibilities?

  1. Show respect for my coaches, game officials, and my teammates; as well as my opponents and their coaches.
  2. CONDUCT MYSELF PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES. Show good sportsmanship and not use offensive language.
  3. Maintain my team spirit and always give 100%.
  4. Make sure my equipment is clean and in good repair for each practice and all games. Notify my coach immediately if my equipment or uniform is in need of repair.
  5. Do not mistreat or damage any equipment or uniform that is provided for you by SVJFAC or any equipment belonging to others.
  6. Notify my coaches when I cannot make it to a practice or a game.
  7. Know the Association's rules on attendance, equipment care, and conduct, accepting the consequences for breaking the rules.
  8. PARTICIPATE and COMPLETE all fund raising requirements.

What are the coach's responsibilities?

  1. Place the emotional and physical well-being of all children ahead of any personal desire to win.
  2. Treat each child as an individual; all children do not develop emotionally or physically at the same time within the same age group.
  3. Provide a safe play situation for all children.
  4. Organize practices that are fun and challenging.
  5. Lead by example, in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship.
  6. Know the rules of the game and teach them to all children.
  7. Use proper coaching techniques for the skills taught.
  8. No foul language
  9. No smoking on the field
  10. Remember the game is for the children and NOT the adults.

What are the parent's responsibilities?

  1. Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every practice and game.
  2. Place the emotional and physical well-being or your child ahead of any personal desire to win.
  3. Insist that your child play in a safe and healthy environment.
  4. Provide support for coaches and officials working with your child so as to provide a positive attitude.
  5. REMEMBER: THE GAME IS FOR THE CHILDREN, NOT THE ADULTS.
  6. Teach your child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect.
  7. Make sure your child arrives at all practices and games on time to participate in warm-ups. Warm-ups are very important to lower the risk of injury. Being late may result in little or no playing time.
  8. Be sure to check your child's equipment to see that it is in good repair, before every practice and game.
  9. Be an active member of the Seneca Valley Jr. Football Association of. Volunteer your time in any way you can to help our children!
  10. It is required that your child completes all fundraising activities.
  11. It is mandatory that a member from each family works their required number of games and/or practices in the concession stand.
  12. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at any event
