Frequently Asked Fundraiser Questions

What is the annual fundraising activities?

There are three significant fundraising activities in SVJFAC each year. First is the concession stand. It generates a significant amount of revenue for the association. Second is the raffle tickets that are sold by each family. Third is CheerFest which is promoted and managed by the cheerleaders and their parents.

What are the raffle tickets?

Each family in the association (whether they have one child or 4 children participating) is required to sell one book of 25 raffle tickets at $5 each. The tickets are handed out at registration or uniform fittings (no later than June) and they are due 2 weeks before the first game of the season. Parents may choose to buy the tickets themselves or sell them to friends, co-workers or relatives. *SVJFAC is not responsible for any misprint or duplication of any tickets. In the event that no Big 4 number is drawn, the number from the preceding day will be used in reverse. All decisions by the board are final and can not be changed or contested.

How does the raffle work?

This year the Seneca Valley Jr. Football Association is giving parents, friends, relatives and family more ways to win on its annual raffle. This season your ticket will be good for the entire month of September with 30 chances to win. Each day your ticket will be eligible to win based on the Pennsylvania Lottery's Big 4 evening drawing. Each ticket has a specific Big 4 number on it and a prize amount that SVJFAC is awarding each day.

What are the prizes?

he following are the payouts: Sept. 1st is $200, Sept 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th are $500 and all other dates are $150. Since the ticket is good for the entire month, there is a chance for multiple wins if your number is drawn more than once within the 30 day period. *To collect your prize, simply give your winning ticket to any SVJFAC Board member or mail the winning ticket with your name, address, and phone number written on the back to: SVJFAC, P.O. Box 1638, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Your winnings will then arrive via check in the mail. All tickets need to be received by 12/1/06 in order to close our books for the year. All $500 winners will be required to provide Social Security numbers so that a 1099 form can be issued for IRS purposes.

Are there tax implications of winning?

Each winner will receive a Form-1099 at the end of the year for tax purposes. It is up to the winner to seek guidance regarding the filing of their tax returns for the year.
