Who can cheer for SVJFAC?

Children that reside in Cranberry Township or Seven Fields may participate in SVJFAC programs.

What are the age requirements for cheering in SVJFAC?

Cheerleading is for children in grades 1 through 8.

Can I cheer for the school and SVJFAC?

No, in order to cheer for SVJFAC you may not be on a school cheerleading squad.

Do participants have to tryout?

Yes, participants currently in grades 2-7 must tryout. There will be at least one competitive squad per age group, with the exception of grades 1 and 2.

How much does it cost?

Registration is $100.00 . There is an additional fee of approximately $85 for required items such as shoes, turtleneck, briefs, socks and hair ribbon.

When are competitions held?

Competitions are generally held on Sundays since most football games are played on Saturdays.

Are there any fundraisers?

Yes, all families in the association are required sell 25 raffle tickets for a total cost of $125. See the Fundraiser section for details.

What is the practice schedule?

Practice during the month of August is Monday through Friday from 6-8pm. During September and October we will practice on Monday and Thursday from 6-8pm. Competitive squads may have additional practices.

Can we vacation in August?

Attendance is mandatory if on a competitive team. All parents must sign an attendance policy. When girls miss practices it can effect the whole squad. This is at least a three month commitment. Also, missing practice can affect tryouts scores for the following year.

When is registration?

Registration will be held at the same time as football. All participants must register to tryout. No exceptions will be made.

Will registration be limited?

Due to the large size of our community and amount of practice space available it may be necessary to limit registration. We make every effort possible to make sure every girl that wants to cheer can do so. But, there may be a need limit the number of girls we can take

What do I wear to try-outs?

All participants trying out must wear a plain white shirt, plain black or navy shorts, mostly white sneakers. No previous cheerleading apparel or accessories are permitted.

When are try-outs?

Tryouts are scheduled for late April and early May. Announcements will be posted on the home page of the web site with specific dates and times.

When is uniform fitting?

Uniform fitting is typically mid-May once try-outs have been completed. The fittings are usually done at the Municipal Center. Please check the home page for specific details regarding uniform fittings.

Can I help coach?

Parents interested in coaching may fill out an application at or before uniform fitting. The application can be found on the Forms page.
